History & Mission
How did a world-class opera festival get started in St. Louis, and what is driving OTSL’s vision for the future?
Though there are many volunteers who assist on a regular basis, we encourage you to give whatever time you have, whenever is best for you. Whether you prefer to share a couple of hours from home each year, help transport or house artists during the season, or if you want to work at the Opera Theatre Boutique on some summer evenings, we have a spot for you!
Advocacy

Encourage elected officials to support performing arts funding and related legislation.
Boutique
Spread the Opera Theatre brand
Sell OTSL swag, great picnic gear, beautiful goods created by local artists, and more in our lobby gift shop during the Festival Season.
Docents
Connect OTSL to our community
Share opera-related presentations with area schools and community groups.
Greeters
Be a Festival Ambassador
Welcome audiences and answer questions in the OTSL gardens during the season.
Marketing
Get the word out about OTSL

A home away from home
Provide temporary housing for visiting singers and seasonal company members.
Transportation
A private Uber with the best passengers
Provide transportation to or from the airport for visiting artists, artisans, and production personnel.
If you are interested in volunteer opportunities that you don’t see listed above, please let us know. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to get volunteers involved!
