The holidays are upon us, and we’re here with the perfect gift guide to make your shopping easier. Your opera-loving friends and loved ones will be delighted with anything from this list!
It goes without saying that the best gift you can give to the opera fan in your life is, well…opera! Our 2023 Festival Season tickets start at just $25, and packages of two or more operas start at just $46.
The future of opera is here! Our New Works Collective breaks the boundaries of what opera can be and brings new stories to the stage. These works celebrate female empowerment, free speech, and drag balls, and are not to be missed!
St. Louis has an incredible arts scene, and it’s worthy of celebrating and supporting! You can do both those easily with an “I love STL Arts” shirt from the Regional Arts Commission. Proceeds of the sales go to RAC, who help fund and sustain the incredible arts scene here in our fair city.
It’s easy to show love for OTSL with great swag! You can also feel good knowing that your purchase goes towards supporting our industry-leading programs. We’ve got coffee mugs, water bottles, notebooks, bags, and more!
Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones had its premiere here at OTSL in 2019, and it went on to the Metropolitan Opera in 2021 and was a smash success. This recording of the powerful work was recently nominated for a Grammy Award!
OTSL is well-known and loved for the epic picnicking that happens before shows. There’s nothing like enjoying a refreshing drink in our beautiful gardens. Local Webster Groves business Civil Alchemy has everything you need, whether it’s wine, beer, or delicious non-alcoholic elixirs.
OTSL has partnered with the Sheldon for Our Song, Our Story on Feb. 4, an evening of music highlighting some of the world’s most well-known operatic arias, art songs and spirituals. Created and directed by Damien Sneed (composer of the new expanded edition of Treemonisha for our 2023 Festival Season), this concert brings together two of today’s most exciting operatic voices in a diverse and powerful event featuring Jacqueline Echols and Justin Austin, accompanied by a string quartet and Damien Sneed on piano. This will be an evening of memorable and beautiful music that pays homage to two iconic Black singers, Marian Anderson and Jessye Norman.
Treat someone to a night at the opera with an OTSL gift certificate! The lucky recipient will be able to redeem your thoughtful gift for season passes, tickets, or boxed picnic dinners.
