AIT Advanced Study Audition Application

ADVANCED STUDY SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was created by Bayer Fund and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis to facilitate and promote the continuing education of Artists-in-Training students.  The scholarship is open to all AIT students who have completed their high school diploma and are pursuing applied vocal/music studies in college or privately.  This is a competitive scholarship, and it is possible that numerous applicants or none might be selected for an award in a given year.  This scholarship also is limited in its financial resources.  Therefore, it is unlikely any applicant will receive a full, one-year tuition award.  Opera Theatre encourages applicants to seek alternative funding and scholarship support.  The decision of the committee is final.  Candidates may apply once each year. No student may accrue more than $20,000 of total winnings over the span of this program.

APPLICATION PROCESS

All applications are reviewed by the Opera Theatre staff.  Determinations are made as to merit, need and audition.  Recipients will be chosen by staff from the Education Department and Artistic Administration Department and other key members of Opera Theatre’s artistic staff.

Applications are accepted no later than June 6, 2022. All auditions will be conducted in person (no exceptions) and will take place Wednesday, June 22, 2022 starting at 1:00 PM in Hecker Hall at the Sally S. Levy Opera Center (210 Hazel Ave., 63119). COVID protocols will be communicated along with the confirmation of your assigned audition time. Notification of results will be made by email no later than July 1, 2022.  Awards are sent directly to the institution, or to the private vocal instructor, or reimbursement to the recipient when receipts for eligible purchases are produced.

Returning applicants who have accrued $20,000 of scholarship support from the Advanced Study Scholarship are not eligible to audition.
