
Opera Previews
These free talks give information including background on composers, historical framework, and information specific to Opera Theatre’s productions. Previews are held one hour before each curtain (7pm Wednesday-Saturday, 6pm on Sundays, and 12pm for matinees) in the Community Music School Auditorum (the building just east of the theater).

Illuminating Opera with Amy Kaiser
For four Thursday and Saturday mornings in April, St. Louis Symphony Chorus Director Amy Kaiser takes you behind the music for each of our 2013 operas. This exhilarating musical investigation of each opera is offered at the Sally S. Levy Opera Center. Click here for more information.

Artists in Residence
Each December, Opera Theatre brings two professional opera singers and a pianist to St. Louis area schools and community organizations introducing audiences to the classically trained voice. Click here for more details.

Docent Programs
Trained volunteers from the Opera Guild enhance Opera Theatre’s educational programs all year long with free classroom instruction and Docent Presentations to prepare for Young People’s Operas, dress rehearsals and special opera studies through the Music!Words!Opera! program. Adult presentations are also available for senior groups and community organizations including The Ethical Society, OASIS, Lifelong Learning Institute, and the Shepard Center.

Dress Rehearsals
Each season, student groups attend orchestra dress rehearsals for each of the main season productions. Program details will be announced spring 2013.
